Hi Guys,
After Looking at photo's and Reading of the first 100 post I was already in love with this lens:-) And I started
Saving for it. On Sat I pick her up and when I got back home went out for a test run The Weather was pretty bad very overcast and about
to rain (which did 45min later) Here are 2 photo's that I took, I'm pretty happy with them Sp since the light pretty bad and I was shooting
handheld too Enjoy.

Interesting I'll have to monitor it closely if it happens again and YES I may have had the limiter on 15m to infinity so I wouldnt miss focus on the BIF's and I think thats where I made my mistake

For heavens sake...

I was testing my MFA on this lens today with my 7DII and noticed that some of my closer shots were soft...

Reading this has just reminded me that I set the limit switch doh!

The good news is that big Tammy tracks a treat on my 7DII...iit'sit's simply worlds apart from the way it worked on my 7D.

That sure is the beauty of 500+mm ;-)a

Nice capture - my little city get GBH but have never seen a nest... to capture one (find one!) is on my bucket list

They nest everywhere here in South Eastern Michigan. Most of the nesting areas are protected wetlands however. So sightseers only can get so close.

South Florida is the place in spring (it is still going on). At Wakodahatchee Wetlands and some of the other places here in Palm Beach County,as well as in multiple locations around the state, you can get close to nests.

You can get close to egret, heron, stork and anhinga nests in multiple locations. Multiple species of herons and egrets. Many of these locations have boardwalks and are free entry.

The first image was taken with a Tamron 150-600 at 329mm, the others with the 55-250 kit lens which gives you an idea of how close you can get so some of these nests. The last image was taken yesterday.

I've not had the chance to use this a great deal with my new 7DII but after MFA'ing it I took some snaps to test out my settings and to check its BIF capabilities.

I was suitably impressed. I didn't get the birds I was hoping for but some locals came to my aid and gave me something to test it out on. This was at 400mm and fairly heavily cropped.

The combination of the 7DII and Big Tammy is leaps and bounds ahead of my experiences with my 7D, even after Big Tammy's FW update though I suspect much of that may be down to my particular copy of the 7D. Every lens I've got is spot on with the 7DII (after MFA) whereas my 7D was variable to say the least.
