I forgot to add. The one issue I have with the CV 15 is the built-in hood. It takes 58mm filters, so I could in theory buy a 58mm 10-stop ND. But we'll see. I have a all the step-up rings I could need, and a 77m 10-stop ND which I've adapted to all my lenses in the past.
With the new scheme, I might have to either stick to long exposures at 24mm only, or buy a 58mm filter...

I would con side the 58mm filter size a benefit especially when you compare it to the 95mm size on the Zeiss 15 Distagon, Heliopan  10 stop ND run well over $300 for that lens. It would be nice if the filter was removable or at least allow you to purchase the lenses with or without the petal hood.

If you get a chance to shoot some open blue skies with the CV 15 I would love to see them. The only thing that is holding me back on it is the potential magenta corners when used on the A7R as well as conner smearing.

I can't speak to corner smearing as I'm not the type to pixel peep that sort of thing. I'll post some sky pics later but I have not seen any kind of color cast or fringing so far. I was hesitant on this lens at first and read a lot about it. By all accounts, version II had the fringing and smearing but they fixed it in version III. I see no evidence to the contrary on my test shots.
I'm taking it out for a proper spin tomorrow and will have a much more thorough report after its been in places other than my backyard.

Very nice. I think Charlie is like the crack dealer around these parts. Getting us all hooked on the legacy glass and doling out the goods. :)

This CV 15 is a real estate photographer's dream...Distortion is MINIMAL. I'm playing with doing HDR shots of the interior of my house, as a real estate photographer would (just to see how it comes out), using the CV 15, 3 shot brackets, merged in LR 6. Very impressive.

Miranda1, here are some open blue skies for you. Shot these at various apertures just now.
Shot raw, untouched (no processing, no corrections, etc.) straight into LR then export.
Vignetting, as I said, is pretty strong wide open (to be expected). But I see no fringing.

Wide open (f/4.5), focused on the neighbor's chimney.

f/8. No change in focus.

Looks pretty damn good to me SOOC.
Obviously, exposure could use a bump up and vignette correction should be applied in post.

Nice shot vincent. Did you flag the flash somehow? Light looks very well controlled.

Just got back from shooting Disney Concert Hall in downtown LA. First city outing for the A7II. While I enjoyed the small size of all my lenses (didn't take any Canon stuff, just the CV 15, FD 50/1.8 and Vivitar 135/2.8, I do have one gripe about shooting the Sony in the daytime. The EVF is not bright enough (nor is the LCD), even on "Sunny Daylight" setting, or manual all maxed out, it's incredibly hard to see what one is shooting in bright sunlight (standing in the shade is fine though), which made composition rather challenging.
The EVF on my now-sold Fuji X100T was a million times brighter and perfectly useable in the sunlight. Sony needs to do something about this in the next iteration. That made me miss my 6D and its optical VF, to be honest.

Here is a canon 17-40 f4.0 with a metabones 4 with firmware 4.0 a little disappointed with it at 17mm as the adapter is seen, at 19 its a little less noticeable auto focus is slow not to be unexpected manual with focus peaking spot on, also mf assist on does just as well if not better than auto focus both manual focus system work very well and fast. both sooc (raw) no edits nothing, first one at 40 next 17 mm. I posted about a remote called trigger trap they are in for the a7ii mine is on the way i will post about it when I get it and shoot some, from reading i am really excited to try it. check it out at www.triggertrap.com (external link).
