I'm curious as to who all has pre-ordered either of these cameras. I wasn't going to until I got an employee discount on the 5DS R that cut the price down to less than 1/5 of the original cost. I pre-ordered two of them! Now if July 2nd could come faster, that would be amazing!

Me too.. me too...

BTW, usually employee discounts are at unit cost, so does that mean that the new 5DSR is only $780?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Ahhh so that is why it is lighter lol
So i am paying £3,200 for something that costs £500!!!!
Pretty disgusted TBH
With only a one year warranty when by UK Law it should be 2!!!

Er think they could afford to throw in 2 batteries and a Sony Sensor.

I've got one on order (DSR). I keep saying that I may cancel, but every time I see samples I think, yeah, it's going to be that good.

I'm keeping my good old 5d3 until the 5d4 comes out. High ISO is of high priority to me personally.

Well I am ready to order the day they are released but my cost is $3,899 for the Canon 5DS R
It kills me to think I am about to pay $3,100 more then some of you are when you are paying $780 for the same thing. I am more the jealous and wanting to work where ever you are.
I could buy my 24-70 II with the savings I would have if I were able to buy at your prices

I'm on the list...with an SR.

I rarely leave ISO100 for studio work, 50 megapixels will be most welcome.

No kidding! I'm waiting for another deal on the 5D3 to pounce on one of those, since I'm after an all-rounder, but at $780? I'd buy the S and SR. I mean, why not?

I just saw the Australian price for the pre-orders... $5,300AU. The 1DX is around $6,000.
