;-)a

I don't get many of these, but now and then, I'm in one spot and it seems like there's another idea or angle getting some attention.

Sure, right and good fun. I was just pointing out the group. Like the pack at corner one of any event. The subject was Men and Women at work.

We are always trying to get that best shot, and sometimes in a cluster.

Being that close to a barrier like that is bad news if someone has an off. Always makes me cringe when I see that.

hard to really tell, but I think that is coming down the hill to turn 3. You can see part of the Briggs & Stratton banner that crosses the track right there.

yeah, you should never kneel behind a barrier, and you need at least an arms length from it IMHO.

even thought that spot looks innocent...I have seen cars hit that barrier near that spot...two cars mixing it up out of 1 coming down that hill....

sorry, that mentality in motorsports photography...will get you no where, and makes tracks tighten down on everyone...

You are both right - and true a car can hit the wall, anywhere. Taken with a 400, and maybe an extender, they all look closer than they are. At that point, the cars are actually driving away from that wall, towards the left side of the track, for the turn in point.

Sorry for causing controversy I was just trying to have some fun with shots of the shooters. For the critics, you notice, every person is facing the cars and watching traffic, not looking the wrong way or chimping.

Very nice position on the track. :p It was at the end of the warm-up laps before the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Looks like he's wearing a helmet; the kind of helmet you wear when you ride your bicycle.

I know most of those standing there. that is between turn one and three. In the right spot at that point you can get a decent sky shot. That is a perfectly good spot to be and those standing there are allowed to be there.

I can ID them if you like... I know I am one of them ;)

And the reason why there is a crowd is the light is specific to a certain time. So many hit this spot knowing the result.
