For me no.1 on your first posting is a terrific image and how well have you controlled the whites, nothing blown. Great

Thanks guys. To clarify, when we decided to do this test, my intention was to try various poses, outfits. Shoot in overcast, daylight, shade. Using speedlight fill most of the time.
I ended up trying everything and learnt so much!

Shot in shadows with some light spill from the RHS. Filled slightly with speedlight. Wanted a fashion look.

Shot with my 85mm with Sun directly above and behind subject. Had to do lots of fill here.

Side light, fill from the RHS. Wanted to see if I could blur out the foilage.

I think they all look wonderful. Only one seemed a tad awkward where a hat or something down in vegetation seems to draw attention to itself.

You mentioned one speedlight. Apparently is was close to you? On a stand or hand-held? I like the look of the shots, so was curious. The light looks good.

Thanks!

Hi Yes, one speedlight. All off camera. Its a Nissin Di700 using a phottix TTL trigger set that enables High speed sync. In this way I could shoot wide open using very high shutter, and still get fill from the speedlight. Its fired inside a phottix Octa (80cm). I did have a second speedlight inside the octa on slave, if power was needed, but rarely did.

The Dof in 2 & 3 is so well controlled that the images appear to be 3D. Really good sharp clear images. Great set.
