For a moment I thought that the bird was converted to black & white! Then I saw the green background. The colors of this nice little heron are perfect B&W

Very cool Gabe. Would you mind sharing some of your other settings? For instance focus point settings and focus mode?
Thanks
Clay

Good morning all. I hope it's ok to ask this here :)
What are some good settings for BIF that you use such as focus points etc
I'm using the 7D with the Tamron and just looking for hints to up my keeper rate and get them a tad sharper.
Your suggestions are very welcomed and appreciated :)
Thanks for reading this :)

Thanks.

Well, I started out shooting manual focus, sort of doing a focus "sweeping" when I managed to get the bee in the VF, which wasn't easy at 600mm on a crop body. I shot a few good ones (probably 5 out of 100).
But this particular one was actually done with auto focus. AI Servo, all 19 points, which works well with a plain background.
