I tried out an SL1 in the store, and it felt too small for my big hands.

Jason, great capture with the Tokina 400 & the SL1.

Cool Jason, thanks for the info. The small size doesn't bother me. In fact it is an advantage over my film cameras that I would want. It would save me having to buy into another system like the Fuji X...
The 85 looks hilarious. I wonder what my 300L would look like on there?
Just picked up another EOS 1V. Great camera except for the focus point adjustment. only a dial on the back forcing the need for extra button pushing.

You are welcome.

The SL1 also has a touch screen, and I must say Canon's touch screens are down well and are intuitive.

I've been eyeballing the Fuji X100T...

I have as well. Don't really want to invest in a new system quite yet but the fuji lenses seem to be pumping out quality images these days. The small size is also really appealing. I went hiking with my 8x10 gear a few weeks ago and I might as well have been hiking to Mordor with that kind of weight on my back (40+pounds). I totally appreciate the Weston quote, "Anything more than 500 yards from the car just isn't photogenic."

My wife's best friend's daughter graduated from college this weekend, and there was a several day celebration with family and friends that the wife and I attended. I was tasked with getting specific pictures, along with candids of the gathering.

The following selection of black and whites are simple in-camera jpegs from my EOS M2, however, the last image in this set is from the portrait session using my 1D3 and 50/1.4.

It was a fun celebration of a young lady ready to take on the world in the new chapter of her life...

Congrats, Alan! It's nice to get published isn't it? One of my shots ended up on the cover of the latest edition of Communique for the district. You can see it here (external link). I had a few other shots in the magazine too, but my insane work schedule kept me in the office most of the spring this year so I couldn't get out to the schools much. I really missed that. :-(

They've been doing those online magazines since Winter of 2012 (12 editions), and I've had 11 of the 12 covers. :-) They're all online here (external link) if anyone wants to look. The only cover that's not mine is the Class of 2013.

Nice pix, Jason! The 3rd in the first set makes me think she's ready to go "Up". :-)

I may be fascinated with volcanoes, but the name's Lisa.
