Jeff Beck opened for ZZ Top on Saturday night at the St. Augustine Amphitheater. He's going to be 71 in a little over a month, and he's lost nothing. The guy was amazing:

Well, I guess that's what happens when you shoot someone who's 71 years old.

What kind of "action" are you saying is missing? Amp leaps?

it's quite refreshing to see a guy just play his instrument and not act like he's shooting his wad with every note being struck.

not drowning...just waving.

I'm 15 years younger than him and I look 20 years older than him. Maybe I need to try Grecian Formula, too. Except I don't have anywhere that much hair. :-P:-P

Nice shots. Well done.

I was at the Tampa show on the 7th. The guy still plays phenomenally but looked bored at times. I was hoping to hear a few more of his classic tunes but it was a good show nonetheless. Impressed with the dude singing in his band.
I was denied trying to bring in my little T3 and nifty 250 as it was considered "professional". What crap.
Thanks for posting your shots!

Absolutely. And that's a great way to put it. Ever watch Clapton play? Or Leo Kottke?

In fact, ZZ Top should be opening for Jeff Beck.

That's what you get when the musician's focus is 100% on the music and not on his appearance. ;-)a
