The URL is odd - this has 1.1.1.4/bmi/ Pretended to the actual URL in the IMG tags. Don't know if this is normal for the internals of AMASS.

No, that is not related to Amass code in any way. Add to gallery command passes img src from DOM to ajax. Check html source, what is the url there? Something adds that for you there (router?).

Hi Pekka, does AMASS just not use the IMG tagged URL then?

I have been trying this on my iPhone over the 4G, I am certain I have done this many times before with no problems.

Just tried it on another message with the same issue.

I'll try from my PC at home when I get back from work and report back.

I can also try restarting the iPhone or something. Very strange this has always worked perfectly before.

Results of Tests:

Restart of iphone on 3/4G at work: Failed

Home PC: IE 11: Worked OK.

iphone on home network: Worked OK.

iphone on 3/4G at home: Failed

So this issue is associated with operating on the 3G/4G WAN, although I am 99% sure it was fine when AMASS 1.0 came out.

So not as bug but very strange.

Perhaps this is something to do with the WAN routing system or the iphone doing something differently with caching images on the WAN?

PS for reference in case this is reported by others my 3G network is O2 UK.

Thanks for a good report.

Found the cause, too:

1.1.1.4/bmi/ is a Vodafone mobile network proxy

More in http://stackoverflow.com …from-injecting-javascript (external link)
I'll add a "no-transform" header to 1.33, hopefully it helps.

Well researched Pekka. As I say I am O2 and not Vodaphone but they probably get their network kit from the same supplier.

In the Food Photography forum, all threads whose last post was made from 1 to 3 months ago show up as having new posts (subject lines are boldface, and "go to first unread" appears) even though I'm certain that I've read all posts. The exception is threads I started. Their subject lines are lightface.

PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | A FEW CORRECT SPELLINGS: lens, aperture, amateur, hobbyist, per se, raccoon, whoa, more so (2 wds.), shoo-in | IMAGE EDITING OK

I'm seeing the same thing, including in forums where I've read everything. It appears to kick in as a thread gets within a week of 3 months old (today I'm seeing threads with a last post date of Feb. 21 or so showing as unread). Possibly the "log" of an individual's read threads filling up and wiping older records, so the more threads someone views the sooner it would appear to start?

With "vanilla" readmarking (i.e. for threads that are no followed) AMASS keeps a record of max. 1000 last visited threads for each member. You can see that list in https://photography-on-the.net ….php?show=threads_visited

So that's why I sometimes land on the first post in a previously read thread instead of the last post?

Clicking that link and looking at some of the threads I've read, why would it show a thread that is well over 2 years old and it gives me the option to click on "go to first unread". I read that thread less than 2 weeks ago and now its telling me I can go to the first unread, yet clicking on it takes me to the a post thats over 2 years old that I already read.

There are lots of times where I will click on a thread I am interested in and click "go to first unread" only to see that its something I already read and that the last post is in some cases many days old.
