Need help with an edit

My daughter's team won their state lacrosse championship last weekend. The game was played in another city and, as luck would have it, the host field's scoreboard has the host team's name instead of "HOME". I'd like to do some kind of poster for the girls and include the final scoreboard, but don't like the fact it has another team's name as we were the home team. How hard would it be in Elements to remove 'St. John's" and add "McKinney" to the photo below. You can assume since I'm asking this here my ability is at the noob level....

I would start with another layer, and use the clone tool to paint over the existing lettering, bringing the colour in from around the edges of each letter. Then you will need to find a matching font, or replace the guest as well? for the team name. The main problem that you are going to have is that fact that you were at an angle to the scoreboard. So once you have got your text an a layer, you are going to have to use the transform tools to skew and rotate the text until it matches with the angle of the score board. That's it really.

1. Make a blank layer.
2. On that new layer, Sample the pink and paint of the other School Name AND Guest. Use a mask to clean up any mistakes.
3. Make a new blank layer.
4. Use the IMPACT Font to type out your daughter's school name.
5. Use tranporm tools, preferably either distort or skew to get the lettering to match the billboard.
6. Repeat 5 and 6 using Guest or the school name. (I suggested painting over the old school name AND Guest so you didnt have to worry about matching the font. The other lettering is a different size and any differences will be less noticeable.)

Hmm, based on the letters already available, I'd use photoshop and copying to make it "Home" making the "M" out of the N, ..

I was bored and need to practice my editing in Ps so I came up with something you might like. Let me know if it's okay to post the edit.

I too took a shot at it if you would like to see it.

I'd love to see both edits.

If you put the "mcKinney" just a tad further to the right you nailed it. The best of the ones published so far...

but that's to Texan McKinney and Frisco...LOL
