Wow! Tough conditions and well played. Focus, exposure and most of all DOF.

Cool picture.

Wow, love it!
The only thing that my eye doesn't enjoy is the distraction in the top right. It's nice and oof, but maybe it's worth removing? Also, a similar object (shell?) on crab left, not sure if it's worth removing though... I like his smile!

I can't see anything I dislike about this photo. Perhaps the right side is cropped a little close to the legs, but it's good either way :)

"Art", photographic art or otherwise, is supposed to make you feel an emotion. That might be happiness, wonder, sadness, anger, whatever, but art is supposed to evoke an emotion of some sort. This absolutely did that for me. "Wonder" at the miracle of nature, intrigue because it's so very different, and I'm still smiling because it's such a whimsical shot. I loved it.

It's very good. Next time, however, try not to crop too tight: this will give you more leeway for cropping in post –viz, you want to make a wallpaper for a widescreen monitor.

Thank you Sue. Actually, this crab made me smile too when I checked its photos on my computer. Didn't expect crabs could smile that way.

Hi Alveric, I do have shots with less cropping but I'm loosing DOF. Thanks for the good comment and suggestion. :-)

I like it too. I think for a shot like this background and Bokeh is quite important and your composition and this lens delivers for this subject.

The only thing I would do is rotate a bit clockwise. It feels a little tilted to the left to me, but that's definitely a personal thing since there is no real reference for what should be level.

Ok, I'm going against the others who have commented.

If it were me, I'd crop this even tighter (i tried it with a screen grab)... to me, the eyes and face are too centered. And, the right side of the image doesn't add anything.

Yes, that means chopping off (figuratively LOL) the legs on the right a bit. but try it and see if you like the image more. I know people often get upset with limbs/arms/feet/ being chopped, but sometimes, including them takes away from the image and in my opinion, this time it could use some cropping.

We don't need the foreground or the right side - they only detract IMHO

If you don't mind me posting the image idea I have (and I can take it down any time just say the word)

it moves the crab to lower right and leaves some of that amazing bokeh in the top! Again in my opinion, the stuff on the right isn't needed and if you try to keep ALL the legs intact, the crab becomes too small to really see well. This feels more intimate to me. Just my thoughts.
