Looking for interesting places to take some automotive photos (Warehouses, old/vintage buildings, cool graffiti spots, old train stations, etc.) in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Would really like to find an old warehouse that I could drive into and snap some quick shots. Any advice is much appreciated and location photos are a plus! Thank you in advance!

Not really other than the typical urban type shots. There's a cool alley way near a bar called The Collins Bar. It's got some old brick buildings and a parking lot next to it with some graffiti. I just moved to Athens, GA though so I didnt really have much time to explore alot before moving

Hi,

Try downtown Birmingham. Sloss Furnace is an old steel mill that has became a tourist attraction. Downtown has a famous strip for photography with old setting (bricked street). If you venture out to Bessemer, the town has the look of the 50s era with an old train station.

My advice is that you should carry your side arms, just in case. These areas aren't safe to venture to.

Good lucks,

Thank you for the info. I moved out of Alabama a couple months ago as stated above though so B'Ham is out of my reach now. However, if I ever go back to that area I will check out those places. I always wanted to go to Sloss but never got the chance and I've driven through bessemer once before but didn't see much to photograph so I'll have to look for the train station next time. Thanks again!
