Challenge #535 - Moving Water(s)

_______________

I'm thinking waterfalls, rivers, rain, sprinklers, faucets, ocean waves.... whatever you can come up with. I'll try to pick a couple that "float my boat" so to speak. Feel free to be as creative as you want to be!
_______________
Teekay: What a beautiful shot! The wildness of the waves, the dark skies, all conspire for a great photo! Thank you so much. I wasn't too sure about the concrete shark fins at the base of the pic but otherwise these waters are very moving.

Trumper: Fun shot of "dog was here". Very expressive, and it fits the challenge to a tee. Loved the dog's tail, exit stage right.

gewb: Awesome detail of water in motion. I love the two color, 3D sculptural quality of this shot. A great non-traditional shot of a waterfall. Love it.

Raven: Really cool shot. I love the Y formation of the falls and the sharp focus with the great foreground framing. Thanks for this photo!

Maureen: Can't find anything to criticize. This photo takes me back to my own boyhood. This is such a dynamic picture. You've captured joy and motion and fun all in a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing this one, it's a gem!

rpolitsr: You've got a beautiful abstract here with really great colors, motion, and splash! I love this one for many of the same reasons I liked gewb's. It's not a traditional water picture. His was black and white, yours is beautiful color. Thanks for this cool shot!

JimAskew: The blues, purples and golds of that sunset over the surf are amazing! The detail of the couple holding hands makes it so personal and enjoyable. Great capture!

pwdieter: Lovely detail of water cascading over the rock overhang. l like the snail and the glass ball. Did you use a neutral density filter to achieve that nice water effect? A slow shutter speed for sure but it sure looks nice! Thanks so much.

Winners
1. gewb- I felt this one fit the challenge perfectly.
2 Maureen- This one needed to split #1 but I'll put it in the sweet spot. Great, great shot!
3. rpolitsr/Raven -I cheated a little and picked two for one slot since I couldn't choose between them. Blame it on the fact that I'm a substitute this week
.

Great shots everyone. Thank you for all your beautiful submissions!

Steve

Thanks for selecting my Boulder Falls image for your challenge. I too enjoyed all of the entries - not an easy choice!

I'll post the next challenge tomorrow afternoon Mountain Dayligt Time (which is UTC -6:00).

Regards,
GEWB

Congratulations to gewb and runners up in this week's excellent choice of a challenge by Spoco57. So many and varied interpretations that judging must have been tough.

As for my shot, Spoco, I had tried cropping out the concrete thingies in the foreground but decided it didn't work.

Nice challenge, Spoco57 and very nice entries, congratulations to all, specially to gewb for the first place and to Maureen and Raven for sharing the honors. Thank you Steve for the unexpected tie.

It was many years ago (2005) when I was chasing the splashes of my photo and focused on them to the point that I forgot a decent picture of the whole boat.
I did a web search to find an English name for it and found similar things with the trade mark 'Aqua-Cycle'.

Below, the best photo I have of it. Today, while preparing that image, I noticed the name engraved in bass relief in the back: it is an authentic Aqua-Cycle :)

Fun challenge Spoco, thanks for the Sweet Spot.:-) This is my 5 year old grandson enjoying some free California water waste as they were cleaning sand out of the system & flooded our street. I took a bunch of pictures but this entry was my fave. After he splashed around a bit, he mowed it with his lawn mower, then banged it with a broom for some great affects.

Congrats to gewb & Jim for placing as well!
