After a week-long business trip and about 5 hours of youtube videos from Adorama later, I got home and couldn't wait to try out some studio/lighting tips I had learned.
This was taken with two lights, plus ambient in room. It's lost the exif because of the selective colouring I did with her eyes. I was going to leave it as original, but her eyes drew me in, and I wanted to emphasize.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I dig it!

Two nits would be to tighten the crop slightly on the right (eliminating the background) and cloning out the white bit on the border of the top-center.

Cheers,

Jeff

Something more like this?

My only concern is that the area in the top right feels like a bit of a black hole... Like its almost awkward that you can't see where her head ends...

Hmmm.

Thanks for the feedback.

Either crop works for me & I like that the white bit is gone. And speaking of white, I'd like to see the white end of the histogram boosted a bit.

The face looks better to me, now. What did you use for PP? In PS, I would have used a layer mask so that the hand on the guitar wasn't brightened.

I used PS, but I just did it globally. Good idea with masking it, I'll keep that in mind for next time.

Thanks,

~Ronen

Looks great with the white end boosted a bit. The bottom of the eyes are also "leaking" a little bit of color.

Otherwise it looks great, I've been personally looking for Max Factory's school festival version of Mio

Lol, I almost bought that in HK! It was a little too expensive at the time.

Love the crops - last version looks really nice!

I don't normally go for B&W with selective color, but this time it works really well.

Congrats and the lighting looks nice too!
