When I read this, my thought is that your are probably creating disks that are both read and write disks. When you do this, the disks don't have to be closed and can be used on different computers. I am thinking that they may work on any Windows machine but may not work on Apples or just some Apple computers. I don't have an Apple computer so I don't know if this is the case but it is possible that is the problem.

If this is the problem use Write only disks and close them out. They used to be cheaper and it is probably best to use them anyway to keep someone from deleting the data by hitting the wrong button.

Tim, Does NERO allow you to sort and rename/number the pictures?

Why would you sort and rename images with your burner software? Use Lightroom, Bridge, FastStone, Irfanview, etc.

On a PC I've always used CDBurnerXP with great results. It's also free!

This is one of the tools I found unreliable.

I would highly recommend ImgBurn. Not only is it free, but you can write cd, dvd, and blu-ray

Found that one unreliable too. I'm probably an isolated case, it worked fine for a while then caused problems.

The key is using the "verify" feature. If you make a lot of coasters, change your software. Nero comes with most DVD burners, so the cost is usually zero.

Are you closing the disk after burning? I think that has to be done for the CD to be readable on any CR drive.

Yep I always close the disc after burning..

When I burn the CD's I use it as a USB. I'm going to burn a CD today on my windows and try it on the apple computer to see if it'll work.. If it doesn't I think I'm going to try it on the apple computer and see if it works on my windows..

I just wanted to see if it was an option. I usually just do it in lightroom and my windows, but I think I'll try bridge as well! :)

My experience is the complete opposite. Nero had been nothing but problems while CDburnerXP and imgburn work perfect, especially when burning iso files to disk. Nero burns nothing but coasters for me half the time.

Another thing I don't see mentioned yet is the burn speed. Slower is always better. I tend to burn at 4x with 16x media.

It would be more expensive but what about "burning" the pictures to a CD or SD card.
