The team over at Lens Rentals had a couple of these with sticking zoom rings so decided to tear one down and document it.

I'm guessing if your zoom ring feels like it's a bit less smooth, it might be one of these screws backing out.

Wish this thread is more active, i am torn between this lens or Canon 16-35L f4 or f2.8 mk2 or even Nikon 14-24 f2.8, i always wanted a lens for all purpose, i shoot landscapes a lot so 2.8 is not much important, but this focal length is used in portraiture and some low light indoors events, so i want to have f2.8 as a factor, not sure IS is that much good or help even it is few stops better.

Now, comparing this lens to both Canon lenses of 16-35 f2.8 mk1 and mk2, how do you find it? from some sites reviews it shows this lens is slightly better than Nikon 14-24 mostly in center and wide open, and stil sharp stopped down, but that Nikon lens is an old model already, and it is the most expensive lens out of 4 lenses.

I am trying to figure out a way to add it to my bag for night work, not so much daylight...in the day time, UWA, at f8 or higher I wonder if there is much difference at all between any of those lenses you mentioned.

So the comparison between al those lenses should be low light and handheld if possible, for most static shots either landscapes or nightscapes or even interior architecture and outdoor architecture i use tripod 95%, so the sharpness at more stopped is not an issue, but if i shoot portraits groups or even single in low light handheld this is where i want to know the lens performance.
