Cool shots. Nicely done. Is it always so deserted?

Mark, Yeah it is... for the most part. Getting there early is best. During the summer months it gets real busy with people. Winter its closed due to adverse weather conditions at its 8300' elevation, paved road in is 10 miles I think then it turns into a 2 mile dirt road at the last stretch. There is a caretaker living there full time onsite plus you have park rangers running around during visiting hours..

-Best

I don't know that I have seen images of Bodie in the snow. Very unique.

What is this place like in mid October? I am going to be in Yosemite in October, and we were planning to run to Bodie one day.

Mid October should be fine..layer accordingly because it could be cold in the morning. It's a good time to visit. Park website has more information too

Thanks. Yeah, I have learned to be more prepared for odd weather when out west...so much more unpredictable and big temperature differences in a day than we typically get out east.

Great photos, love the contrast of snow and sky. I'm not crazy about the vignettes though.

Thanks! Wich one...the Building shot or the Stamp mil shot.... Both with the 50 Art at 1.4, I recently printed the stamp mill shot on a 12x18 and it came out very cool
