a little question about Canon serial numbers for these objectives.

50mm f1.2 its number beginning with UUxxxx that was offered would mean that out of 2006 this target was released in 2007 .

another person had as its serial number to 50 L serial UAxxxx A=1986

where my question the serial number on this lens range is it different

That UUxxxx number is the build date code, not the serial number. The serial number will be found somewhere else on the lens.

UAxxxx means it was built in 2012.

I guess the lens was manufactured sometime in late 2006 and then marketed to the public in January 2007.

do you think a model marketed in 2007 is like a model manufactured in 2015 for the quality ?

I ask just this question, because it is a friend of me who sell it.

They should be identical.

I will say, I would much rather buy a sparsely used lens that is 5+ years old from a hobbyist,
rather than a well used and worn 2 year old lens from a professional wedding photographer.

While many people baby their gear, some use it, abused it, insure it and replaces it often.

This is just my personal thought. Nothing about used or even new lenses is guaranteed perfect.
