And when the 5D IV announcement is finally made the rumor will have been proved true: It will be "after March 2015". :p

Dedicated still camera market is shrinking. I would not be surprised if prices will inch that high.

Now if Sony and Nikon were to offer bodies directly in competition with the Mark IV within weeks of each other then I would say the price would be lower.

After watching the 5Ds video on the web yesterday, I think I am going to wait for the 5DM4. Gives me time to save more money for better glass.

A report over at Northlight mentions testing of the EOS 5D Mark IV.

There is still a mix between 18 and 24MP. 24MP is the likely final outcome, with the lower MP sensor testing AF speed and buffer management issues (less than 8FPS is the likely shooting speed).

We’ve heard recently that the camera is coming in 2016, with shipping of the C300 Mark II and EOS-1D X Mark II to happen before the EOS 5D Mark IV. There’s a lot of R&D dollars going into the 5D4 project, with the hopes of launching a product that is perceived to be a big jump in features and performance over the more-than-capable EOS 5D Mark III.

I tried two D750's and a 1DX for a while and decided to hold my money for the 5DIV. The 1DX was too loud. The D750's focusing and controls weren't as well thought out as the 5D3. Super excited for the R&D being reportedly poured into the 5D4. The 5DIII is the best wedding and photojournalism camera hands down for lower decibels, despite the better paper specs of the D750 and 1DX, so a 5D4 with 7 fps, better dynamic range and faster UHS-II second card slot would be killer. I have high hopes for the 5DIV and would rather wait longer for Canon to get it right than see them rush it out as a limited incremental update. Also better video would be frosting on the ice cream cake.
