The histogram feature is pretty cool! :-P

EDIT: Oh yeah, and thanks for all the hard work Pekka! 8-)

I just posted an image, and couldn't see the histogram thingy; I might be slow today, so where is it?

I vote no, if only because this is AMASS, and vBulletin can't hold a candle to it. Getting tired of this 'others do this differently, do like them please'. They could learn a lot from AMASS.

Time for this mostly lurker to express his own appreciation for all the hard work and the fantastic results of that work. Thanks Pekka.

So you'd vote against what could possibly be better, just because a different forum software does it?

FWIW Xenforo has the option I'm asking about, as well. Regardless of your bias, it is a cleaner look.

And whether you're tired of it or not, I'll feel free to ask the staff my questions.

Stopping by to say thank you Pekka, for all your hard work and talent, as well as all the other forum members who have contributed in beta testing this incredible program.

Hopefully you will be able to market it, if that's your wish, and it will become the standard for all forums..

It's just so intuitive to navigate !!

My one wish, to add back **Editing OK** for the critique forum

No, quite simply I vote against because I am satisfied with how it works now, and don't think it would be better. You mention the other software as your argument to change AMASS, and that is no argument. You're not the first or only one who uses other software to promote your opinion, and it does get tiring to read.

FWIW Xenforo has the option I'm asking about, as well. Regardless of your bias, it is a cleaner look.

See, there you go again. My bias or yours, andicus? Or both?

And whether you're tired of it or not, I'll feel free to ask the staff my questions.

I just gave my own opinion too. A vote, andicus, with a few reasons. So that people know that there is more than one opinion. And know that 'others do it differently' doesn't impress.

Mark my words, in the not too distant future AMASS will be the standard against which (photography) forum software is judged.

Please make up your mind.

I don't disagree. I love the way this software looks and was astonished to read that Pekka has developed it from scratch. As a programmer, I have to say that's a truly impressive work.

However, that doesn't preclude me from offering opinions on something I think would make it better. My reasoning is that it seems more intuitive.

Your eyes are already on the left of the page to read the subject lines, so having the first unread post option there makes sense to me.

The other forum software is referenced to show my preference. Not simply indicate it should be like that here just because it's like that somewhere else.

Anyway, we both have our preferences, so let's not clutter up this thread re-hashing them.

It just gets better and better ... AMASS has no rival on line. Thanks so much for such a well thought out and intuitive forum software product.

Just a reminder about the new EXIF automation, as AMASS can now get EXIF from any size Flickr image, if there is something to be found:

If you want forums to find EXIF from your post's Flickr photos automatically, you need either to:

have your Flickr gallery URL in your signature:

the usual: Photostream index (...flickr.com/photos/YOURFLICKRNAME)

or

Member index (...flickr.com/people/YOURFLICKRNAME)

or

embed Flickr images using their bbcode in full or bbcode created by our post editor FETCH tool.

Both work, too :)

-------------

Caveats:

a) If you embed just a Flickr-hosted image directly, EXIF can not be found automatically.

b) if there are Flickr images in a post from several Flickr accounts, or the sig photostream link and the photostream links found using the bbcode do not match: EXIF automation won't start.
