Garter snakes

I saw a couple of garter snakes mating in the bush right outside my front door the other day.

Thank you! Yes, I was really surprised to see them mating at the top of the tree. My husband just happened to look out the front door & he was like, "hey, there's a snake in our little tree." I went to grab my camera & he was all "hey, there's 2 in there!" I was like, "cool. I wonder if they're mating?" and got out there & sure enough, they were!

Thanks! I guess being up off the ground gave them a little more protection from potential predators while they were mating. And it worked out perfectly, since they were right about eye level to me! Made it real easy!
