I currently have a 5DII. I have a 622C-TX, and 5 622C's. I use 4 Godox 860's and a Canon 430EX II.

I am considering the just-announced Sony A7RII as my second body, but I am wondering what the flash situation is with Sony bodies. Specifically, can I use the Canon YN trigger(s) with the Sony body? Is there another YN compatible trigger that will allow the 622C's to be used on my flashes?

I use them mostly in manual, but sometimes TTL and HSS once in a while, so I would really like to keep those capabilities.

Any Sony Alpha users out there than can shed some light (sorry) here?

Only the Phottix Odin for TTL and HSS. You can use the 622c's and the Godox FT16 in manual mode only. That is what I use.

Forgot to add, the Godox lights and triggers work great in manual.

You can use the Godox/Cheetah lights with the A7x cameras in manual. The Tx unit permits changing power from the camera. No TTL or FP-Sync.

Here is what you can do with an A7II and the Cheetah Light 360:

Its a composite of about 20 images along with a background image that went through Topaz Impressions.

I use Pixel King triggers for Sony to triggers Sony HVL flash with ETTL & HSS.
I can connect the pixel receiver to Godox AD360 via pc cable to get it's HSS.

If I only use manual flash control, I use 622TX to triggrr and control the power of my 580exii, 430exii, YN600, and trigger the Godox

Yes what others have stated. The Odin TX/RX for Sony opens up a while new options for Sony Lighting. You can use your Canon flash in manual mode only.
The Phottix Mitros+ for Sony will provide you with TTL/HSS equivalent toe the native Sony brand.

I use the cheetah light CL-360 and CL-600 with the 7II/7s along with the Odin and they work just fine.

Happy Shooting:lol:

Hi all! This is my first post in this forum, hope it's of any help. And sorry for my poor English. :-)

You can use your current setup in the Sony but only in manual. Obviously proprietary functionality like wireless or HSS will not work. You need a Sony, or designed for Sony, flash for that. Currently there are two radio triggers with those features, the Pixel King (which I use) and the Phottix Odin. Both have the iISO shoe (Minolta auto-lock) so you will need the Sony (external link) or third party (external link) adapter for any MIS (multi-interface shoe) flash. Maybe the camera already comes with an adapter as happens with the Sony A99. There is a Phottix Odin II already announced with the MIS shoe but I think it's not on sale yet.

Regards,
Juan

Thanks to all who have posted. I continue to hope Canon will announce a ff mirrorless body soon with something close to Sony' specs. Not holding my breath though. I just don't know if I should get a second body like the Sony, and have a two-system bag with jury-rigged flash setup, or have two flash systems, etc. So in the meantime I continue to watch the gear developments and hope the right combination pops up soon.

Hi this is my first time writing here. I needed help for my Sony A series flash system. Thank you for the advice. I just want to reconfirm that the Odin TX/RX system will work with the Godox 360 for HSS on Sony A7, right? I want to make sure I purchase the right system.
Does the Y622 for Nikon able to do this too on Sony?
Thank you for helping.
