This millipede was under a small fragment of brick I looked underneath, but when the heat of the day fell across the millipede, it then sought out shelter elsewhere, by walking across a small patch of moss in it's search for somewhere to hide away again.

And here are some (heavy) crops of a red spider mite - they are about the size of a pin head... They move a lot, and pretty quickly too it must be said...

Thanks Jeremy, but all I did was point and shoot - the lens did the rest :-)

Loving the beach shots, so darned cold here these last few days!

Winter scenes from a local walk: took the Tamron 90mm macro for a walk. It's so sharp I decided to try it for other uses, and pleased with results. Think I'm falling in love with a prime :-)

A lone leaf, well not quite lone:

Appealed to my sense of humour on two counts:

Lovely to see you dabbling in Macro Rosey ;)

Paul.

Have always dabbled a bit, started with nifty fifty and tubes .... bought the Tamron quite early, but haven't used it much. Now living it for landscape ☺

Thanks Richard, and enjoying that depth of field on the rose. In 1974 I visited some friends just our Amsterdam, and they took me all over, including flower markets. Amazing.

Today at Haumoana, and Murphy's rule. No longer lens but spoonbills. Used the Tamron 90 again.

Paul the Red Spider Mite is 10 Stars, abs. wonderful capture.

One of our interns heard me whining about the inability to find/capture a fly....so she brought me in a dead fly found on a window sill, who know how long it had been there. In the mean time I've received 100 fly pupae and they are in the chamber as I type, in a few days to a week maybe I'll have something. Here's the dead fly from Candace-

Thanks Paul. I'd hoped to be doing more astro with the 70D with the pier in place but clouds clouds clouds. If I don't have clouds then it's the Moon :( But as you know there is great solace to be found in macro and it's a huge world until the snow and ice come.

Every time I see your pics I am always impressed how sharp that 50-150 lens looks.

Not always great subjects in northwest Indiana when it's raining every darn day, but these made me chuckle. The first one was some crazy geese that were stalking me through the tall grass. I wound up getting bum rushed by at least 30 of them, perhaps someone had been feeding them excessively. When I peeked at the photo later, they reminded me of a school of sharks, which is how they were acting. The second was just some cattle grouped together for a family photo.
