WOW...the macro insect shots are amazing!

Medicine Man, you caused me to scroll back up to that image to find out if it was one of Paul's as it looked like his quality of shot...I was surprised to find out it wasn't. Nice job on those...and Paul, you never cease to amaze with your macro work.

What do you do when it has rained most of the month, wreck dives are being cancelled and the local lakes have the visibility of chocolate milk? Why you play with your action figures...

Since this weekends plans to photograph a shipwreck that sank in 1891 and is on the bottom of Lake Michigan was cancelled...the calendar being cleared, there was no better time to test a couple things for a new product coming out later this year...and no the new product isn't a spearfishing red M&M...

Awesome pics - you're all so good at this!

Today:

This lady spider was running across the soil between my bedding plants and she has a fair collection of her youngster on board:

That's cool Paul - so I guess the kids just sort of cling to each other and mom?

That's right. The mom carries them around in a sac until it splits open and all the babies fall out and scramble onto her back!

The female Wolf Spider (Pardosa Amentata) makes an egg sac out of silk and lays her eggs in it. She carries the sac under her body which is attached by silk threads produced from the spinnerets. The newly-hatched young, called ‘spiderlings’, cling onto their mother’s back and ride around with her for about a week till they have grown a little bit bigger. Then they leave to develop into adult Wolf Spiders.

Paul.

Spent a little while watching these (mason?) bees going into what will be a nest in a small hole in the brickwork yesterday, there were 3 of them (normally solitary but they can share a nest site occasionally):

Watching the bees, as well as myself, were a couple of ruby-tailed wasps, hoping perhaps to use the larvae of the bees for their own purposes.

First shot was lucky but not perfect, the smaller of the two flying, then the larger of the two found a crevice of its own to hide inside:

Wow wow wow! What a page.
THIS is why my 70D family is my favorite on POTN.
I 'spose most of you know I deal with several different camera platforms....each of which is represented here at POTN but
the 70D thread is always my first, my favorite.
This page is just another of hundreds where true photography slaps me in the face :)

Welcome back JamG love the Ninja!

Paul---as always with the all seeing eye! Beautiful captures.
Nothing special but not stacking! Actually shooting live creatures:

Never did get around to my other shots of Turkey prior to my trip to Bangkok. Here's the Hagia Sofia. A former church turned mosque. Absolutely stunning place. Unfortunately, some construction/renovation going on. Fortunately, some construction/renovation going on!

Thanks MedicineMan. You'll love Costa Rica! The Arenal Volcano area is wonderful. Be sure to visit the Ecocenter while/if you are there. I look forward to those shots!!!
