Is the colt 45 reflector just like the Bowens High Performance Reflector ? I noticed the price is better on the colt 45.

Scott, I know it's not advertised but curiosity got the best of me today!! I went out to see if my Sony cameras would do HSS with the new CL-600 that I picked up yesterday and sure enough each camera worked all the way to their synch speed! The A7II, A7s, A7r and the A6000 which max out at 1/4000.

Tested with the Odin TX/RX for Sony
I used the RB-90 with only the inter baffle as that is what I am going to be using the most. I am sure w/o the RB I probably would get a stop or two more light but at this pointing knowing that I can synch past the camera's synch speed is good news to me!

Did you need to run the CL-600 at full power to do this?

I did see that ?Scott? or someone answered these two are similar. But I'm wondering since I already have/use the Maxilight/fireball how similar the 45 is to that. Would I really gain anything by using the 45 in place of the maxilight?

Sorry I realize this is a CL-600 thread but I searched for the Cheetah 45 and didn't see a specific thread for it, just mentioned in other threads.

The colt 45 is like the elinchrom 10.25" but bigger. They do the same thing as the Maxilite, but it more portable. If you already have the maxi and Pro S /E and using a 360 then you don't need the colt 45. If your running a bowens system then you will want the colt 45 over the maxi because you would have to use an adapter. Using an adapter your going loose output because your tunneling the light and not focusing the the light.

Hope that answers your question
