Last month we took a hit very near by and it blew out a lot of electronics and a few starter capacitors in the air conditioners. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

June is usually good for lightning. Anyway these are from earlier this year. ![]() 2015 ![]() IMAGE LINK: http://src3rsteve.zenfolio.com/p63973242/e4cf467fd ![]() 2015 ![]()

Night lightning is quite easy. Generally I tri-pod mount the camera, manually focus using LV on some distant object, set it for ISO100, f/8, and 15 to 30 seconds depending on the amount of lightning and keep clicking away until a lightning bolt happens. Afterwards if there is significant time left on the exposure I just cover the lens with my hand allowing for no more exposing and begin the cycle again. Storm clouds during the day are also quite easy, just expose properly and shoot away. Lightning during the day is much harder and generally works best if you have some device to trigger the camera. Google "lightning triggers" There are several commercial ones and if you are the least bit handy electronically, they are quite easy to build with parts from Radio Shack. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
