Love the pics but what exactly is going on here?

I think they are shots of the mannequins in the cockpits of the jets.

Actually, mannequin "standing" next to the aircraft. I was moving it back into position after the photo shoot (had the area clear)...saw the "nose" in the reflection in the visor and snapped a quick pic. Thought it was a unique twist for the thread.

Virginia Aviation Museum. I paid a visit in the summer of 2013. Thought the display was interesting. Obviously I was not the only one. ;-)a

^ How in the hell did you manage to get a shot like this? That's killer.

I would think that it would be pretty tough to get at all close to that plane.

It's interesting.....that one vent looks like a big gash in the body.

Heh, EXIF says it was with a 5DS. You get that with a decent focal length plus 50MP to crop from. :)

The wanting never ends. The budget ends, oh yes, but not the wanting.

Also, was POTUS on board? The aircrew does practice flights, and when they do, there is no where near the ground security over departure/arrival flight paths. If POTUS was on board, I defer to the 5DS comment above.

Tight crop. No POTUS.

Aircraft does routine touch and go's at my local runway, and was passing over my house...at about 1500 ft. There is no hiding from the 5Ds with 200-400mm f/4L 1.4x. ;-)a

I can't wait for the next airshow.

I don't think that is a vent - it looks like the reflection of the #3 engine on that highly polished band around the lower fuselage.
