Actually, I mistakenly left my Canon 60D at home on the trip of a lifetime, but ended up taking several hundred nice pictures with my Samsung Galaxy S3 cellphone. Thought I'd share a few...

I took that same trip a few years back. I probably would have turned around for my SLR :cry:

I went out on Sunday to take some pics of a local waterfall that is at a VERY heavy flow right now. I forgot my battery at home on the charger :( I only got a cell phone pic of it. lol

I'd have used the local craigslist ads out there and bought a used Canon DSLR and sold it upon trip's completion.

Luckily you had the S3, however. Amazing what a phone cam can do these days.

I don't know if its the post processing on these shots or what, but I took several of these same pictures on my old S5IS. Nothing fancy at all, but my pictures came out way better than these.

Not patting myself on the back - just saying that although the Samsung and iPhone are "good" cameras, they aren't as good as a point and shoot, and can't touch a DSLR.

I wish I could see how my 6D and my 16-35 f4L would shoot these pictures, but I don't have plans to go back to Yellowstone anytime soon. :(
