This was my first year going to Geneseo, and while many people have told me it is no where near as good as it used to be, I still had a great time. I wish I had a chance to do the twilight show that they had, but something came up and I was unable.
I used my Nikon D810 with the 80-400 and the Nikon D4s with the Sigma Sport 150-600. CC always welcome, thanks for looking:

Tom Duffy came in with his B-25 Mitchell and dropped a load of perfectly good watermelons :)

Excellent set & as far stretched as it seems I just shot an R/C event with an almost identical Moth competing & winning it's class. Were the watermelons simply dropped or was there a target to try to hit?

They just dropped them over the field, they had gas tanks that they set off to simulate the target being hit....pretty funny seeing 3 B-25s come in and each drop a dozen watermelons.
Of course I wasn't ready for a wide angle shot to show it :(

An outstanding collection of photos you have. Great show, too.

I believe these are the first air show images taken with the Sigma 150-600 Sport that I have seen.
Looks like the Sigma makes an excellent air show lens. I'm gonna try to rent it for my next air show.

What was your experience like using the Sigma Sport? How was the AF accuracy and speed?
Any comments about panning with IS mode 2?

Thanks in advance.

I enjoyed your flickr page, great job.

thank you Frank, this is the second show I shot with the Sigma Sport 150-600 (first was Reading in the beginning of June). I must say I'm thoroughly and completely impressed with it. Autofocus is very fast, it doesn't hunt. Results are sharp, colors are great. The pans that I show here were hand held using mode 2. I did get a gimbal mount for it but wasn't able to use it because of my position. I will say, it is VERY VERY heavy. My shoulder was sore the next couple of days and also my right hand from pulling up the camera/lens combo. As long as your okay with the weight, I think this is a very good lens for aviation. Keep in mind I did use this solely on the Nikon D4s, so I don't know what it would be like on a different body (I didn't use it on my D810). Hope this helps!
