No no... haha. I edit RAW images; not JPEG. It was just converted to JPEG for the web.

Well, pulling shadows from RAW also introduces noise. Jpeg's are just worse.

There are some 7D Mk II ISO 10000 samples here that look a lot cleaner than yours: http://lessonsfromdad.info …-review-high-iso-samples/ (external link)

Quite honestly, I don't think the noise is 'that' bad, considering it was shot at ISO 10,000. I shoot in manual and check with my histogram constantly. The exposure was bang on.

EDIT: I did pull the shadows now that I think back to when I edited this image. That could be it....?

Since you're keeping your eye on the histogram don't forget to ETTR when working with high ISOs. A little overexposure seems to help control the noise. 8-)

I've got the lens for a week now and I really love it! For me this is the lens with the best fun:dollar/euro ratio..

Lets see some funky distortion shots (-:

Get close to your pets or snap some architecture from weird angles

I think I subconsciously try to NOT let things get too distorted when composing a shot with this lens. But I let my guard down here for a moment... I've got to learn to loosen up a little bit when using this lens. Love to shoot down from a high angle with it, even if it means just flipping the LCD out and and holding it overhead at arm's length.

Went on a cruise. People were feeding the birds, so I put my 70D on AI SERVIO and continues shooting and blasted away 7 fps. I only had my 10-18 STM with me though, so I had cropped the hell out of some.

Never posted these in here, but using this lens in a situation where it probably shouldnt have been and it held up like a champ ( was raining very heavy when I took all of these, lens wasnt directly exposed to the water but it did get a fair amount of exposure.

These were taken a year ago and that lens is still working just fine today. Works very well for video on my SL1 during holidays and parties.
