A New Bare Bulb Flash Arrives

Anyone use these 360s in the rain? If so how do you keep them dry. I may have a shoot in the rain and I wanted to plan for it. Thanks.

eeek no...

I'm not set on it. Just used to like shooting my speedlites in the rain. But love these lights better. It's for a wedding I anticipate may rain.

A large plastic bag slipped over the head and battery pack.

I spent 8 hours out in light rain with no problem. While under shelter, I set up the strobe on a stand, put the standard reflector on it, put the bag over top of the whole thing, then snapped the gel holder ring over top of the reflector to hold the bag thght and in place.

I just got the 7" reflector kit from Cheetahstand.
It looks like it requires a speedring mount.
And this will require a stand mount?
Bummer, I was hoping to shoot the CL-360 from the camera hotshoe with the 7" reflector.
Guess not, I'll still have to use the 5" reflector for this method?

So close to being the perfect option for me. Just need godox to come out with some updated receivers for the 850 and 360.

Wonder how long the time lag will be between announcement and availability this time?
Wonder if they'll seize the chance offered by the flexibility of the RS600P (CL600) ~ AD180/360 (CL360) ~ QT600 ~ V850/860 ports to provide neat little plug-in Rx units for these too. Be great if they did, but I'm not holding my breath.

I was just about to ask about the easiest way to trigger my speedlights with the Cells-II and 360 combo, but no need to now, thanks.

If I read that correctly, the new X1 Transmitter won't trigger the AD360 with it's existing FT16 receiver. But I'm not sure if the X1 receiver can be used with the AD360....I know the X1 won't give the AD360 TTL capabilities, but can it trigger the light?

Not with the existing FTR-16 Rx unit - that'd be like trying to listen to your local Air Traffic Control tower on the car radio. Totally the wrong set of frequencies.

However, if you scroll down the previously linked page a little further, you'll find this:

It would appear that all you'd require would be a 2.5mm plug (X1) to 3.5mm plug (AD360) sync lead and away you go. I'm still hoping that Godox will complete the circle with plug-in Rx units to replace the FTR-16 and FTR-16S units but this may not be an immediate priority. However, the fact that those units are plug-in rather than built-in does sort of suggest that this concept may be included in their thinking. It would also neatly both combine the FT-16 and Cells II Tx units into a single transmitter and also update to 2.4GHz from the current 433MHz and thus (supposedly) increase the range.
Personally, I've had not a single range issue with the older version but certainly a single Tx unit would be neater than one in the hotshoe and one in the shirt pocket (especially when wearing a shirt without pockets ).

What adapter would I need to attach a cl 360 to an Elinchrom Rotalux mini octa? Have you guys done it?
