Very, to much work not enough play but play maybe turning into a bit of work soon as we are opening a small studio in the next few weeks just got a bit of painting to do and a couple of bits to get and we'll be good to go exciting but frightening times ahead.

Oh congratulations and all the best with the venture

I joined in with a small group that do regular glamour studio shoots, mainly I'm not that good at taking pictures of people, this is one of the "less glamorous" ones

Nice photo Richard my only quibble is that the crop I'd of preferred to have seen the arms of the chaise long but other than that great lighting and pose.

Thanks Rob, I'll revisit the photo, I have a feeling there was something just out of crop that need to go, should have moved it but difficult when its a group and only limited time.

Maidenhead Festival this weekend, a local band Mark Handley and the Bone Idols http://www.markhandley.co.uk/ (external link) play a set this afternoon. A challenge of bright sun and dark shadows, also the back drop although black you can see the town scene through it.

The weather today was not that good which was a shame as I would have spent more time watching band play, the light was not that good even at ISO 800 suppose on the 6D I could have pushed it higher.

Outstanding band photos Richard - I presume you have been in touch with them and they want copies?

Ian - are you kidding me? Top shelf work for sure, hope it's printed and on the wall?

Oh and Richard - the young lady portrait, your a braver man than I but honestly - superb,

.DAVID.

Had a great weekend at Mallory Park, spoilt only by the local who has set up a noise detector in his garden and called the council because he felt it was too loud - I would like to meet the individual concerned and persuade him to donate his property to someone with common sense (and a love of racing)

Anyway - few from the weekend in no particular order.

1DX 70-200 2.8 mkII with mkIII 1.4 extender handheld of course.

Cracking set David I like #2 flames from a side exit exhaust on a Mk1 Escort corking.

My pc is non functional at present and I have a shoot from last Sunday to process which is a bugger but I've been spending most evening in the new studio painting and building a make up station etc it's nearly all done though. On the plus side I got asked by someone for a quote for a 48x44 inch framed print of his girlfriend's lips which I did, £350 in total, and got a reply of that's reasonable now I'm thinking maybe I should of quoted more ;-)a

David, Nice set. The #17 Sierra in the old Dick Johnson racing colours from the Australian Touring Car series (as it was then called) brings back the memories. I am more of a Holden fan myself, but I used to spend hours watching ATC as a kid. I've grown into F1 now.

Some recent photos from me (including F1!)

Centralia, Pennsylvania: An underground mine fire is still burning after 50+years and the town and nearby highway are abandoned/demolished. Here is the remainder of the old PA Route 61.

I was in Budapest recently, but couldnt resist a bit of Urbexing. This a derelict shed on an active train servicing site, filled with abandoned rolling stock awaiting a home in a museum. Most of these will rust before they get there though. :-(

And of course the GP. Was there mainly to drink beer and watch the race, and there was a massive safety fence in the way that prevented all but panning shots.
