I couldn't find a thread specifically for Outdoor portraits with thin DOF with artificial light sources- only for studio style shots, so I figured why not add one! My lighting will be on it's way soon so until then I will have to drool over everyone else's photos -?

Please include Camera Model, Lens, Settings, Lighting Equipment and Placement when posting photos.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who always thought it was "Ring Bear"! LOL Nice shots, are you able to get midday light down enough for a decent sky with the speedlight? From what I've read more power is needed to get decent skies than what speedlights can do...

No speedlight can't do midday. You can gang 4 of them up and still not get enough power. These were taken around 5 in early August so not midday sun but still enough for a good solid rim light.

If you want midday search here for the ND filter wide open thread.
