Congrats! I love my 1D3. I am starting to eyeball 1D4 bodies now, but I have started a reasonable side-business off of my 1D3. It's a solid and enjoyable camera to use.

OK - you guys convinced me. Just won one in an an auction for $700 and change. Original box & all accessories, and a late SN. Looks very clean. Can't wait to get it. I understand the shutter count can't be determined by any current software, correct?

I was tired of waiting for the 5D IV anyway...

Congrats you'll love it. Canon can only determine shutter count

It always seemed to me that this camera had a 3-D look to photos it produced. There is also a nice dedicated forum over on Flickr. Just do a search. It's updated with new photos all the time.

Got to agree with the posters here, the 1DIII is nice.

I had a 5DII as well and never seem to like the photographs, always seemed not quite all there. Sold it and picked up a used 1DsIII (C$2,000, about 10K activations) and now have a great pair of bodies!

Glad you love your 1D III!

The 1D3 is a great camera and a real workhorse.
