Yeah, they are addictive to watch. I just wish there were a few less bushes next to the den, but as the pups become more active, there is a large open area nearby. I'm sure upcoming groups will be getting some great shots of these pups.

Jon, I have you and several others on my list. I'm hoping to get some firm 2016 pricing in a day or two. I'll be sending out a little more info and a few questions later this week.

Buddy, your work here is some of the finest documentation of African wildlife I believe I have ever seen. Exquisite photography and wonderful commentary. Thank you so much for all your efforts.

Such an amazing thread and what a wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing so much of it with us.

My wife works with a guy that is a registered guide in Africa and he keeps trying to get us to go over with him on a trip. We plan on taking him up on it in a year or so. He should be retired by then and working almost full time over there. They're teachers and he's been taking groups for almost 20yrs now. I can't wait to get over there.

I will definitely go for another safari somewhere in the near future (my first experience was in kenya & tanzania 5 years ago). Really like your trip report so far...not to mention the video you've linked.
I murmured 'oh sh!t' here at work just before you did

something that says "click" and some strange white tubes with glass in it..

All travel safari trips eventually come to an end or move onward. I'm now up to our last day in Zimanga before travel to Tiger Canyons. As this is my 'farewell' to classic Africa, I really just wanted to ride around watching general game. Most of my group preferred one last shoot in the hides and I fully understood their desire. I set up the group and then, along with head ranger Brian Jennings and one of my fellow travelers, headed out to ride around the countryside. Of course, we saw and photographed birds also ... just not from the hide. Here is a woodland kingfisher and a tawny eagle. I also saw a hillside full of bee eaters, which are always fun.

While on birds, I did come across a pair of ostrich and tried once more to perfect my panning skills. I dd okay on the single male, but my efforts on the pair was only 'so so' at best.

Probably my favorite sighting of the morning were the giraffe. First seen from afar, then closer.

As we got very close, we noted that their was a mom and young giraffe also. They posed nicely against the distant bush.
