I have bowen strobes and am buying an Elinchrom deep octa soon... am I able to use a cheaper adapter for my bowens strobe like this one? http://www.ebay.ca …67140?hash=item4605f3b024 (external link)

Or do I need the real expensive one... http://www.bhphotovideo.com …P8HAQ&is=REG&Q=&A=details (external link)

If using adapter like in the first link, your strobe head could be burried inside the adapter and will not be 'bare-bulb' enough.

You should go for the second one. I bought the first one at first and could never proprerly use it. The modifiers would not really hold and most of the time fall on the floor as soon as you move them slightly.
