First forum post but I've been reading posts for several months.....and enjoyed every one. Thanks for having such a great resource.

I used a Canon 7D with a 24-105 L to capture this Yellow-Crowned Night Heron on the river walk in San Antonio this weekend. Love the green legs!

Juvenile black crested night herons. They look nothing like the adults. Only thing they have in common is their red eyes. Every year they nest in some pint trees right between the local hospital and some houses. Closest water is 1/3 mile away. There are 4 pine trees and this turns into a rookery. When I first went to check it out the parents just started building their nest. I lost count at 24 bids in these 4 trees. They get in those trees and it is hard to get a clear shot of them.

A few from this past Friday, FINALLY got a few hours to go take some photos. It was a grey day though. I just bought a Tamron 150-600 here on the forum so should be getting more and better photos in the near future. When I rented one earlier this year I got very good results from it......
