One of these days, the eagle will decide to try for a fish that's closer than 300 yards away from me! Shame he was so far away, the river was calm, and sun was almost setting.

I like them just the same- besides you might get bored if they were all nice and close

Great action series Ian. You managed to freeze the action really well at 1/1250th, that's impressive. I sure would like to be able to shoot at ISO 2500 in the early morning hours. I think about the 1DX every time I'm struggling for shutter speed, mane I'll pick up a used one some day.

Thanks very much Steve. As the light was disappearing I was watching where my ISO was going to have to be to get any kind of a shot. I figured I could work with ISO 2000 or 2500, so one 1250th of the second was as fast as I could go. I can't imagine what your shots would look like with a 1DX :-)

Great shots as usual, Ian.

BTW ... I am still waiting for my "one of these days", too. One time I witnessed about 7 or 8 fishing events in less than an hour. However, they were so far away that they might as well take place in the next county.
