Speaking of selling, my FE 24-240 is up for grabs/listed at FredMiranda. I've decided to add
the LAEA3 and the 70-400g2. This will yield a 3 lens kit that covers 16mm to 600mm. The
16-35, the 28-70, and the big Sony white. I can throw in the 28 F2 for nights/stars with little
penalty and even the 55 1.8.

Awesome shot! I sort of in a way wish I hadn't bought my Olympus Pen F 38/1.8... although I love it, I'm sure I would love the CV 40 more, but the Oly keeps me from wanting to spend the money on it

For a $100 lens though, the Oly is pretty awesome :)

nice kit, I have a similar kit for landscapes, but the 24-70 (had the 28-70 and missed the 24mm), 70-400g1 (super nice optics). As for the wide, I've been waffling on the 11-24 vs 11-24 vs 11-24 option, they're all so expensive :p

for now, rok 14 will do and my day to day will be the cv12. The weight is stupid light, DOF for days. Patiently and painfully waiting for the price to drop for the A7rii, I refuse to pay retail for the sony

I too have the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 for e-mount. Stellar lens --no pun intended since that is the intent=stars but I can see landscaping with it too.

What's a reasonable flash (3rd party ok) for a new alpha 7rii? Expanding out of my Canon camp looking for something reasonable at this time.

Anyone have a half case on theirs? Usually carry with a strap and only raise to the eye to shoot but if only my pinky had a little extra real estate to hold onto. I used to have the RRS plate on my E-M1 for this exact reason and considering getting the Gariz case for that reason. Didn't really consider one of those L-plates that wrap around since I don't do a lot of tripod work and this camera has enough weight on it, a metal plate would add more.

I've used Gariz cases since the a7r. People have different feelings about them, but I like them precisely for the reason you stated: the extra height it lets my pinky grab the body, which puts a lot less strain on the wrists when mounting larger lenses. They also protect the bottom of the body from scuffs and what not.

The gariz leather is...so so. I had a ciesta case at one point. Much nicer leather, but it lacked a battery door which was a PITA.

The Sony flashes have overheating issues and are usually avoided.

Nissin is making some nice flashes for the a7 system. I've got a nissin i40, which is pretty compact, yet really powerful flash with full bounce and swivel capability.

They also recently released the Di700, which Gene picked up. Looks comparable to the 600ex and has a radio trigger system built in as well.
