Well I had to set up some lights to photograph a Clay Pigeon to illustrate a blog post that I am writing, and I had my Leatherman out of my range bag, I threw it in there too. Since we have to be able to justify carrying a knife with a locking blade (or other locking sharp implements) I don't regularly carry the thing anymore, hence the condition, which I did not really notice until I looked at the pictures. It was a 40th Birthday present from my kids, and I have now had it very nearly eleven years.

The original case wore out quite quickly, less than a year, so my friend who is an authorised Leatherman retailer set me up with a "new" pouch, it's much better and has stood up to lots of use. Being black instead of the original brown it matches the pouch for the tool adapter better too. I do not know why a product that is so often sold together has different coloured belt pouches.

Went on a holliday abroad. On the way back I forgot to put my EDC pocket knife and leatherman in the suitcase.
Customs would not allow me to carry them with me in the plane (Duh).
So I gave them to my relative, where I stayed.
Back home I had to find a replacement for my (temporarily) lost leatherman kick multitool and my Herder pocket knife.
The Herder pocketknife looks like this (external link), including the wear and tear.

After a little research I decided to go for a leatherman Wave and a Fontenille Pataud Laguiole.

It feels like a real upgrade.

This thread could use a bump, so...........
L.T. Wright knife called the Jet. 01 tool steel, and a GB Wildlife Hatchet behind it.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Good choice! These are the best out there. Aside from these 2, I also like the BlizeTec Survival Knife. It is a 5-in-1 Tactical Pocket Folding Knife. I'm not much of a "survivalist" but I am quite the fan of this knife. It looks like the one here: http://www.outdoorgearup.com/best-camping-knife/ (external link)

A fun shot that was based on a discussion about seldvage, vintage jeans with a buddy. Just so happened to have part of a knife in the pic.
