I picked up the 90mm F2.8 VC to be a sidekick to my 180mm F3.5 macro lens and a much larger diffuser and much heavier setup. Indeed looks a lot simpler and less cumbersome than your other setup. Great light from both though!
Looking to set up a proper rig myself but having a hard time figuring out which way to go.

Would be great to be able to use your tamron setup but think I'd have to use something more similar to your other ones. Losing a lot of light because of extension tubes, so would probably need to get my flash closer to the subject in order to keep the flash power and iso down.

Thanks a bunch for sharing, appreciate it! Helps a lot to see all the different kinds of rigs out there :)

Tamron 90 VC - Using the image stabilization of VC to achieve shutter speeds of 1/30s ~ 1/60s, to bring in more ambient light instead of using ISO.
