My first ever attempt at HDR using Photomatix Pro. I still have much to learn regarding using this style and hope it looks natural enough to belong in this thread.

The big question is...is that sweet tea? ;-)a

Nice shot. Have you tried restoring any of the old photos? (they actually look to be in very good condition)

Is there any other kind of tea to drink? :)

Thanks for the compliment and I am lucky as most of the older photos I have are in decent shape. I have considered trying my hand at it someday but I know my OCD will kick in when I start and since I have a lot of old family pictures, I need to have a BIG window of time LOL!

I don't think there is Fd...though I heard rumors that tons of tea are wasted each year by people failing to add the required sugar to it!!! :-P

Beware of tinkering with old photos, that can be very, very addictive!!!

Paul did you find it? It's a CC plugin panel that lets you quickly easily blend your exposure bracket.

I'm finding that I don't particularly care too much for the LR HDR merge. Photomatix Pro offers tenfold the control. Just my opinion. :)

Cheers Paul, I had photomatix a few years ago but never really got to grips with HDR.

^I don't even like Photomatix. My first choice when 'exposure blending' is Raya Pro. But here is a simple 5 step exposure blend from the ride home on this weekend's trip-

Thats a nice shot and just the natural type of shot I'm after. I have recently purchased Photoshop CC/LR and am trying to get to grips with it. I have got Jimmy Mac's blending panel but haven't had the time to learn it yet ( I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old )
Here's a three shot blend I took last week to have a play with HDR, I dropped the exposure last thing to get a deeper blue in the sky. I'm not quite sure if I should have left it as it was..............
Is this going in the right direction ? ? ?

Looking through my images, I realized that this was probably one of my first ever HDR images. The core of the Orion Nebula is very bright but the outer edges are quite faint, so this is a composite of 8x1sec + 8x2sec + 8x30sec + 7x2min + 7x5min frames.

Sunset in Zadar (Croatia)
"It may be that the loveliest inscription of Zadar´s exceptional sunset was written by the famous Alfred Hitchcock. On the occasion of his visit to Zadar, in May 1964, while observing the luxurious game played by the sun the Maestro said: »Zadar has the most beautiful sunset in the world, more beautiful than the one in Key West, in Florida, applauded at every evening.« From room 204 of the former Hotel Zagreb, the great film master of suspense, enthusiastic and overcome by this notion, tried to catch the beatuy of the sunset with his camera."

This HDR was achieved on the stairs of the Sea Organ… :)

Nice - where abouts is it? Didn't realise the Netherlands had mountains.
