Animas River Accident ?

When the EPA busted a contaminated old gold mine in Silverton Co. It caused a catastrophy on the Animas River earlier this month. Here is 1 shot of the sludge as it came here. I live in Farmington NM ( population over 60,000 )about 110 miles South of Silverton on the Animas River. This is where the Animas River and the San Juan River Converge

I've been following this for a while and its just further proof that the EPA does nothing good for this country.

it happened on navajo land....of course nothing will be done.

What a shame. Some of the best trout fishing in my life happened at that spot.

That is sad you can see some dwellings in the upper left corner. I saw a helicopters view going down the river on TV and it looks like the river runs right in the middle on farming and home life!

The good fishing is still there. It's up stream on the San Juan River about 25 miles.

Correct. There is a Large population all along the river from Durango into Utah. Most of the towns depend on it in one way or another. I think the farmers are the ones that were effected most.
