At 70mm? That's just nuts! Seems like you don't even need to ask for the 100-400 back. :-D

Hey Burnett, did you mean to post this in the 70d thread?
Real nice action shot buddy! I miss seeing your stuff on the 70d thread since I parted with mine.

^awesome little bruin Pondrader. We're hunting them again next weekend. Now that woodpecker, that is a stunning bird---currently googling to see if we have anything close.

I went out and shot a little of it. Of all the shots, I took, these are my two favorites.

Every time I check out your work I look for a rope at the feet that has those critters secured :-) What you do takes a lot of patience and time in the bush which I don't have.

Love the first shot, great eyeline between the two.

Last shot is great too, loving the strong perspective and low angle here.

I'll be joining you guys soon! Just pulled the trigger on the B&H 7D2/Printer bundle. With the $350 rebate currently running, the bundle comes to $1246 and since I have a Pro-100 printer already, hopefully I can sell the printer locally. Can't wait to have this beastie in my hands!! :D

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Earlier today I nearly stepped on this guy right in the middle of the trail. Despite how he looks in this pic, these little Pygmies are incredibly difficult to spot in the underbrush.

The reason he stands out so well among the leaves is because I actually used the pop-up flash in this one. I wasn't able to get a pic until he had already taken cover under some big bushes, so he was in some pretty serious shadows that the [non-IS] 135mm did not seem to like very much. I'm really bad at remembering that the 7DII has a flash at all, but I'm glad it hit me today to give it a try.

I've already posted this pic in a couple of places, but I thought I'd add it here as an example of the 7D2 at ISO3200. I just printed this 16x20 and it looks pretty darn good. I'd say that the much nicer noise character (finer, less splotchy than 7D, 5DIII etc..), which has been mentioned before, definitely helps when printing.

Full res version in flickr.
