Scavenger hunt

Taken with a Yashica Electro 35 GSN. I think the film was Fujicolor, probably ISO 200 but I'll have to check to be sure when I get home.

Subject is a coworker's hands after we'd been working in the rain.

Shadow
Taken with a 5D3 -- I'll update the rest of the EXIF when I get home, unless I forget or just decide to carry on with my life instead.

Subject is the shadows made from an overhead sun shining through the lattice of a shade tunnel along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway in Charlotte. I had to check back a couple times during the day to wait for the shadows to be right where I wanted them, so I'm particularly proud of this one.

I'm sorry, Don, I can't recall your location/area...I'm taking it your on the left side of the country? We are forecast for a week or so of sporadic moisture down here. Erika looks like she's busting up and that depression should add to what is producing our rain. Don't rule Erika out, though, strange things happen to storms in the north part of the gulf. Thanks for the comments on my shots. I hope ya'll get some good rain going *soon*, especially if you are out west...that is incredibly sad *and* scary what is going on out there.

Ed, I'm located in western NC on the lee side of the mountains. Since June our back yard has seen less than 4" of rain. Our area is in a severe drought but nothing like the west coast drought. Erica looked promising but now we are just hoping for some good shower activity as she pushes inland.

Shine
Taken with a Minolta Instant Pro on Impossible PZ 600 Silver Shade Cool

What I was going for here was the sun shining behind the statue. The sun shining from behind was pretty cool by itself, but I turned on the sprinklers in the little courtyard (I was outside a museum) and I think it added that extra something that really worked. I don't know if it screams "shine", but I kinda love the photo.

Haha, I was thinking of what to do for pan, and I sat down on the sofa with my phone, and opened up Facebook, and bam! there was an advertisement; I had to take a screenshot.

Don, maybe Erika will put some rain on the ground for ya'll before she's through. If not, maybe the system that has given us some rain will move your way. Do you know how much the other side of the mountain has gotten? We're sitting at about 6" for July and August. My little weather station is reporting that we're 1.86" below average...I'm thankful for what we've gotten.

For some reason the shadow picture tends to make me twist my neck around looking at it...???

I like and agree with an awful lot of what you say here. Sometimes the tempation is there for me to look through the photos I've taken over the course of a month and see if anything "fits" one of the themes and is a better photo than one I actually took with the theme in mind. But for me that would defeat the purpose of this thread - or at least my intended purpose of this thread. I try to use photos that I only took because of the the month's topic..

Ditto on what you've said. I've been tempted to use a "shot picture" but that would not be "shooting for the theme". I feel that for *me* I should be intentional about the shots I shoot for a theme. Otherwise, what's the use, eh?

Thanks, Don. I wonder if I found somebody with a 3-D printer if I could print the trophy out?...I could get rid of all those pesky kids and grandkid pictures and replace them with the trophy!!
