Done in LR4.4

Shot 1 is the original shot at 250mm and f5.6 from about 6 feet away,
The second shot is a heavy crop with added color, clarity and saturation, the some noise and sharpening.

Great job! what a big difference.

It's amazing how well you can "fill" in the dark areas around the eyes etc when no flash was used. I've been doing this a lot lately too.

Thank you very much. Lightroom has been quite the revelation. Can't believe I waited this long. Hoping to get better at it with practice; there is a lot to learn.

Here is one I did the other day, I cropped the picture and changed the format from landscape to port rate, I then went into mask and marked around the cats eyes then came out of zoom size and filled in the rest of the pic with the mask and de saturated the mask down to -100.
I then opened the mask again and picked out the eyes and added more saturation and sharpening to the eyes only, then i closed the mask and increased clarity, contrast and a little blacks to bring out the details, I finished off with a little bit of selective sharpening.

And this is the result.

P.

Not a HUGE difference but it was enough that it saved the image, which I was using as a test, and ended up being one to keep.

Cool, Geoff, but read the introductory post (or many others here) -- we ask you to provide specifics on your Raw processing, either details or one or more screenshots showing your work!

And, thanks for contributing!!

Whoops Im sorry. I'll edit the original post.

Maybe not, seems I cant edit that post...anyway...

Exposure went to -1.85, Clarity to +17, Vibrance to +23 in Camera RAW. After that open, i run a clean base layer edit of actions ( some sharpening and level adjustment ) and then I was pretty much done with it.

So the image was edited in Photoshop and isn't actually a RAW (only) conversion?

The before and after shot was done completely to the RAW file without any editing. The clean up stuff was done after this screen shot was taken.
