Sony A7x lounge

I think if you get Raya Pro and watch the free YT tutorials - that's probably enough. I bought his masterclass on blending, but that was made prior to Raya Pro, which he just released. So, his classes are more generically about how to use luminosity mask, and doesn't cover the Raya Pro panel.

hmmm that raya pro is tempting... especially that's it's affordable.

David's right, I have the Raya Pro panel. It is quick/simple but you can get as deep in it as you want. It didn't help with todays bird sthough

Nice. Get enough of those and you'll have some good eating. I remember trapping crawdads on the California Delta at night while we were catfishing. There must have been an easy 200 of them in the trap the next morning.

Good stuff today. The kid shots and the vertical pano (you live near some beautiful coastline, Eddie!)

So, I'm starting to lean back towards the A7Rii. (I know, I'm all over the map). It's basically gonna come down to me pulling the trigger after a glass of wine or similar and seeing how things shake out. Haha.
I'd REALLY like to have my lineup sorted out before my road trip to Yosemite at the end of the month.

I'm also leaning heavily towards more native FE glass. I think I've hampered myself a bit with the 24-70 being the only FE lens I have (in other words, the A7II has been a manual focus camera for the large majority of my shooting, which makes me think maybe I'm missing out a bit?)
Maybe I should add the 35/2.8 or the 28/2 as a general purpose walkaround lens, then go ahead and sell the A7ii body and get the A7Rii.....

I've been waffling myself (with lenses), been playing with the nikon 14-24 ....... and I'm impressed.

biggest reason for my lens quest is due to the fact my rok 14 has some battle wounds, seems like the rokinon coatings are really easy to scratch. I've got scratched up front AND rear elements......

Also I'm actually surprised how much I'm using the fe28 on this trip. That lens is truly great and considering the price its a no brainer

I think I need to try the FE 28 or FE 35 before making any life-altering decisions (ie the A7Rii, hehe). Honestly, while playing with legacy FD glass and manually focusing was fun, at the end of the day, for some situations, I want that AF. And it's had me going back to my 6D for a lot of things lately. But maybe I need to try out more FE glass before making the decision. It's frustrating straddling the 2 systems because I can't seem to commit and I keep changing my mind day to day.

Charlie, did I read correctly yesterday? You got to try out the A7Rii? Or was that a typo?

Oh yes, Jonathon got one. I'm already borrowing 4 of his lenses, so when I return them, I'll look to borrow the A7rii a bit, if I dont buy it myself first

That guy is nuts! Is there anything he does NOT have? hehe.

So, now that you've had it in your hands, what did you think? (Specially since you've had plenty of time with the A7ii, like me, so you give me a good reference point).
And did you shoot it with Canon lenses at all (EF)? And if so, what did you think of AF performance?
