Last few from my walk with the dog in Napier yesterday. This area is Marine Parade, and adjacent to the sea. Unfortunately it's not especially hospitable water fro swimming in, steep shingle beach and prone to rogue waves, and there's been a number of drownings over the years with people being washed away. Despite that, it's a lovely area for a walk, and there's ongoing development to attract people there.
Millennial Arch - built in 1999 I'm thinking, as it is the first place to see the sun in the year 2000. It spans a walk/cycle way - part of well over 100km of off road walk/cycle ways.

Another view of the cycleway, with a cyclist actually obliging

Just some fountains and the roof of the aquarium.IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/xuqBUz

Trawlermen sculpture at the aquarium. That saucer shape to the right is the roof of the aquarium. The dynamic range was awful, so I did some virtual copies and took to Photomatix, then made it sort of monochrome which I thought looked better.IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/xuqBYH

Gilray Fountain, more commonly known as Spirit of Napier. I think it was built to commemorate the spirit of the people rising and rebuilding after a devastating earthquake in 1931.IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/y9Jw3W

And the athletic types among you might be interested in these gym machines. There's several of them, so you can work out with an iconic view of the Cape
