Last few from my walk with the dog in Napier yesterday. This area is Marine Parade, and adjacent to the sea. Unfortunately it's not especially hospitable water fro swimming in, steep shingle beach and prone to rogue waves, and there's been a number of drownings over the years with people being washed away. Despite that, it's a lovely area for a walk, and there's ongoing development to attract people there.

Millennial Arch - built in 1999 I'm thinking, as it is the first place to see the sun in the year 2000. It spans a walk/cycle way - part of well over 100km of off road walk/cycle ways.

Enjoying the tour of the north and Napier Rose, sadly when there we spent the whole month on the
s.island. NZ is scheduled for a return visit but 3 places still ahead of it. I'll be old by the time I get back
and most likely senile so keep posting

This shot really stood out to me. Really good compare and contrast. I think if you wanted to play around with post processing this would be a great shot to find an image in.

Thank you! It definitely was calming... right there was a cliff where I sat on a hiking trip, watching the sun go down, drinking a hot toddy

On the current schedule it's 3 years from now and the focus will be the n.island this time...must come in our summer for Milky Way I think....but the north island in our summer (way up on the n.island) is still warm I think. Yeah Poof has never met a true Kiwi, dinner or lunch would be fun or maybe a photo shoot Well this is all assuming the world is still here!

I I'm s sure I'll still be in the north island in three years time. Possibly back in the Wairarapa, but wherever still be great to meet. The far north is warmer in winter but it can be cold here, and had been lately. Though I realise is relative to your climate ☺

Not sure what today's high was, but walking dog this evening felt about 6 cent

this morning's snap ~

The intervolameter has arrived, and I'm keen to try it. For those of you who have done time lapse what v software do you use to stitch them together and add music track. I've done some searches but haven't found anything about adding music yet. Preferably free software as is just an experiment.
