Sep 10, 2015 20:08 | #2 I would say yes. And I'll add that there is not enough distinction in pattern/brightness between subject and background, that is, the giraffe does not stand out enough from the background.

That is my thought also..thanks! Jessi

Sep 10, 2015 21:09 | #6 Personally, I would dodge the giraffe some. The light under the giraffes chin is a bit distracting though. You could maybe clone some of the background from the top left to replace some of the brighter areas. Sony A7ii [Sony FE 16-35mm f/4] [Sony FE 28-70mm] [Rokinon 135mm F2] [Sony 50mm 1.8]

If you have LR or ACR I would turn down the highlights, then use an adjustment brush to paint over the giraffe and raise the exposure slightly. Dan Marchant

The worst thing you could do if your goal is to make the viewer look at the giraffe is to convert it to grayscale. That merely compounds the problem. If the giraffe were its natural color, I would think it would stand out more. Sue Cassidy

Maybe a color version would help it stand out more. _______________
