I recently purchased two Alien Bees B800's, and so far I'm in love. Except when I am shooting tethered.

When I try to shoot from the EOS program, the camera goes off, but the flash heads do not. If I remove the tether and shoot handheld, they work fine.

So my question is, what is the issue and how can I fix it? I'm using a Canon 7D, two B800 flash heads, and a MacBook Pro running the most up-to-date version of the EOS Utility. I'm using the CyberSync trigger to pop the flash heads. Should I be running a sync cord to one of the flash heads instead? (The person I purchased them from sent two CyberSync's and no cord.)

You need to disable live view Silent shooting to get the hot shoe to trip your lights.
